Supreme Infra completes maiden bridge in Maharashtra
  Supreme Infrastructure today said it has completed its maiden project in Maharashtra that involved over Rs 300 crore and is commencing tolling operations. The project is in the marine segment by building Kasheli bridge on old Thane Nasik Highway. "Supreme Infrastructure India Ltd (SIIL) holds 10 per cent equity stake in the Kasheli Bridge SPV viz Kalyan Sangam Infratech...," the company said in a filing to the BSE. The project in Maharashtra was awarded to SIIL in 2009 by the Sangam group and has been completed in 36 months, it said. "We have added orders worth Rs 212.30 crore along with a bridge project for Rs 124 crore...The company has also added a road BOT project in Maharashtra," it said.

Caterpillar expanding operations in India

RPP Infra bags orders worth about Rs 340 million
  Infrastructure development company RPP Infra Projects has bagged two orders from IGCAR Kalpakkam and Public Works Department of Andaman and Nicobar Islands totally valued at Rs about 340 million. The Erode-based company, in a filing to the BSE, said it had won Rs 163 million from Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam for construction of roads and storm water drainage works in their phase II unit. Besides securing this project, the company won another contract from Public Works Department of Andaman and Nicobar Islands for construction of sea wall at Car Nicobar valued at Rs 140 million. Both these projects are expected to be completed in 26 months, it said. "We are honoured to have work orders from Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam and Andaman Public Works Department, Car Nicobar...I really feel that this will be very useful in using our expertise to complete the projects in time..", RPP Infra Projects CMD P Arulsundaram said. The company has already completed 200 civil projects in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the statement added.

Hyundai, L&T among bidders for Abu Dhabi Midfield Terminal
  Abu Dhabi Airports Co. has reportedly said it received six bids from ventures including Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. and Larsen & Toubro Ltd. to build a midfield terminal at its international airport. The report stated that the six groups comprise companies including Hyundai Engineering, Hochtief AG, Al Habtoor, Bechtel Group Inc., Larsen & Toubro, Samsung and TAV Havalimanlari Holding AS. The Construction is planned to commence during the second quarter of 2012,

Sany 900-ton Crawler Crane Hoists China’s First 6.0MW Wind Turbine
  Sany’s SCC9000, a 900-ton crawler crane known as “Asia’s No. 1 Crawler Crane” owned by Guangdong LIFT Engineering Machinery, has successfully completed the hoisting of China’s first largest capacity wind turbine, Sinovel SL6000/128HH100 6.0MW wind turbine. The crawler crane adopted the combination of 78m boom and 42m jib with an operating radius of 24m to hoist the 330-ton nacelle and 128-ton blades. The job signifies that Sany has made another solid breakthrough in hoisting of large capacity wind turbines, and again demonstrates Sany crawler crane’s leading position in the industry.
   
Unity Infraprojects bags orders worth Rs306 crore

  Gujarat Apollo Industries (formerly Gujarat Apollo Equipments), a leading manufacturer of road construction and maintenance machinery for the quarter ended Sep 2011 has registered 15% fall in its earnings to Rs. 3.40 crore on a revenue of Rs. 50.21 crore which was up by 14%. On higher sales the operating profit was up by 13% to Rs. 6.94 crore with operating margin nearly flat (down 10 bps to 13.8%). But the fall in net profit was triggered by higher interest cost (up 281% to Rs. 1.65 crore), but for that the bottomline would have been grown.
   
Pratibha Industries, China Rail First Group win Rs467 crore order from DMRC
  Pratibha CRFG JV, a joint venture between Pratibha Industries as the lead partner and China Rail First Group, has won an order of Rs467 crore from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for two segments of the underground metro being built by DMRC. The project is scheduled for completion by May 2014.
