Punj Lloyd bags Rs 285 cr road project in Kenya
 

Engineering and construction firm Punj Lloyd today said it has bagged Rs 285 crore project from Kenya Highways Authority for constructing a road, marking its foray into the African nation.

"Our knowledge coupled with the expertise to deliver complex projects...Will complement Kenya's ambitious plans to spur infrastructure growth and will consolidate the Group's highways and road construction portfolio across the globe," Punj Lloyd CEO (Infrastructure) SS Raju said.

The group will continue rational bidding with an aim to create a portfolio of infrastructure development projects in Africa, he added.

In order to execute the Loruk-Barpelo road project, the company has entered into a joint venture agreement with Kenya-based construction firm, Intex Construction.

The duration of the project, which entails construction of 62-km stretch of the road, is 30 months, the statement said.

Besides, the company said it has bagged a SEZ project worth Rs 81 crore in Gurgaon. The scope of work includes the civil, structural work and external development for construction of building, it added.
